From Vanguard Professional Uros Podlogar...

I got a phone call from Slovenian Playboy editorial staff saying they'd be creating a story about a new Slovenian company, Berk Composite Bikes, that produces carbon bikes. Great photos were needed.

I started thinking, and as always, I tried to think of something different and unusual, something that would enable a superior visual presentation of these outstanding bikes.

I got the idea of biking in a tunnel. The first tunnel that came across my mind was a fairly new tunnel on the highway where I drive often. But biking there would be totally illegal, dangerous and we would get punished for sure. Then I thought of a relatively abandoned tunnel with very little traffic and a low-speed limit. I suggested my idea to all three Berk composites team members and they were excited about it. We decided to do the tunnel photo shoot on the very same day in the evening. We arrived at the tunnel around 10 pm. Andraz and Jure assembled their bikes and changed their clothes. Meanwhile, I drove through the 1 SM long tunnel to got the idea of light in it. Then we were ready to start the project. I took photos from the back of the pick-up truck.

I used Vanguard's Skyborne 49 backpack for this project and was fascinated by it. It has a great amount of storage space, offering the remarkable organization with so many individual pockets. And what I liked the most is the quality of the cushioning, especially because my projects are many times not the most gentle of circumstances. I also took a photo of a composite carbon bike in a low lit garage and the vertical portrait shot from the roof. For both, I used a Vanguard' tripod: the Abeo PRO 284CT with BBH 200 head.

At the very end, we did the craziest shot of the night, with the driver of the pick-up truck on Dimension TWO Longboard. See the results below...
